Mel Bartlett is Managing Partner of Morneau Shepell’s Atlantic Retirement Consulting practice, dividing his time between the Halifax and Fredericton offices. He recently rejoined the firm, after working six years in the insurance industry including a senior executive position with Maritime Life prior to its takeover by Manulife. He originally joined Morneau Shepell in 1990 and spent 10 years as the Managing Partner of the Halifax Pension Consulting practice.
Mel has over 25 years of expertise in the areas of insurance, pension plan governance, accounting for pension expense, asset management, and the design and management of non-registered executive arrangements. Mel is currently working with some major public sector clients including the Province of Prince Edward Island, Atlantic Blue Cross, and Nova Scotia Public Service Long Term Disability Program.
Mel has a BSc and an MBA from Dalhousie University. He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries.
