Jean Bergeron is Managing Partner of Morneau Shepell’s Asset Management practice in Montreal and has over 20 years of experience in the industry. Jean rejoined Morneau Shepell in 1998, after working as an actuary in the office of the superintendent of pensions of New Brunswick, at a national life insurance company and as an acturial assistant at Sobeco (since acquired by Morneau Shepell).
In addition to the responsibility of the Asset Management Consulting Services in Montreal, Jean is also a National Specialist in Asset Management Consulting. He advises employers on all aspect of asset/liability management for pension funds including investment performance, investment policy, governance, selection of fund managers and asset/liability management studies.
Jean is an active member of the actuarial profession, serving on committees of both the Society of Actuaries and the Canadian Institute of Actuaries. Jean has also been a member of the Association of Investment Management Research and the Association des Analystes Financiers de Montréal since 1998. He is also a former member of the Pension and Social Security Liaison Committee of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries and is a CFA charterholder. Jean frequently speaks at conferences and has written numerous articles on asset management.
Jean graduated from the Université de Montréal with a BSC in Mathematics. He is a Fellow of both the Society of Actuaries and the Canadian Institute of Actuaries.
