Gino Girard is a Partner and Senior Consultant in Morneau Shepell’s Pension Consulting practice, and joined the company in 2004. With over 21 years of experience as a consulting actuary, he worked for 13 years at two other major actuarial consulting firms and served as an actuarial consultant to several municipalities in Quebec.
Gino has extensive experience advising clients of all sizes on matters related to the design and funding of the pension plans that they sponsor. He is well versed in both the technical and the strategic elements of pension plan management and has significant experience in co-ordinating both administration and consulting services for his clients. At Morneau Shepell, he leads the internal committee in charge of analyzing issues and challenges that are specific to Quebec’s municipal and university sectors.
With a particular expertise in public sector organizations, Gino has played a leading role in assisting organizations such as the Ministère des Affaires municipale, Régions et Occupation du territoire (MAMROT) and various other implicated parties with the transition to the new accounting rules (CICA rules).
Gino holds a Bachelor of Actuarial Sciences degree from Laval University, and is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries.
