Fred Vettese is Chief Actuary at Morneau Shepell. In his role he provides leadership in expanding Morneau Shepell’s practice areas and ensures that professional standards are maintained nationally. Fred worked with another major actuarial consulting firm before joining Morneau Shepell in 1988.
Fred serves on the Pension Steering Committee for Morneau Shepell’s own retirement and savings plans, as well as on external committees including the C.D. Howe Pension Policy Advisory Group. In addition to his national responsibilities, Fred continues to provide consulting advice to some of Morneau Shepell’s most prominent clients and is frequently quoted regarding pension matters in Canada’s two national newspapers and on CBC radio.
Fred has a BSc in Math from the University of Toronto. He became an actuary in 1980 and is a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (FCIA), and a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA).
